The Nebbiolo d’Alba comes from a steep, 1.5-hectare parcel of vines in the commune of Alba, on the edge of the Barbaresco area. Like the vast majority of the Rocca wines, it derives from a single site—this time the renowned Montersino vineyard (in the San Rocco Seno d’Elvio subzone at the border of Barbaresco). The vines here are between 15 and 60 years old and the wine was matured for 12 months in large Austrian and German, Stockinger oak casks.
From a vintage with great promise, the ‘17 is packed with vibrant, floral and blood plum-scented fruit and deep, powdery structure. The value on offer here is exceptional.
