Trophy winning sparkling from Coldstream Hills’ Deer Park vineyard
Trophy Best Sparkling Wine at the 2026 National Wine Show
Trophy Best Sparkling Wine at the 2025 Yarra Valley Wine Show
57/43% pinot noir/chardonnay. Approximately six years on lees and disgorged with 5.75 g/L. A deserved trophy winner for Best Sparkling Wine at the 2024 Yarra Valley Wine Show. A bright green gold, the bead tiny and persistent. Complex aromas of freshly baked bread together with a little white peach and orange peel. Dry and impeccably balanced, finishing long and vibrant. A steal at this price. Drink to 2032.
97 points Special Value Philip Rich for Halliday Wine Companion, July 2026
A beautifully executed vintage sparkling. Sports a fine bead in the glass and a wealth of spring blossom, bright citrus lemon scents and toast. Six years on lees brings a gently honeyed palate with citrus, lemon butter, nougat and biscuit. Shows youthful vitality and freshness, courtesy of some impressive, scintillating acid drive. The winemaker has reduced dosage levels in recent years, allowing a lovely purity to be expressed. Drink to 2028.
95 points Jeni Port for Wine Pilot, November 2025
Coldstream Hills was founded by James and Suzanne Halliday in 1985, with rapid expansion of vineyards in the decade that followed. Today, the well-regarded estate is managed as one of the Regional Heroes of the Treasury Wine Estates, with winemaking led by Andrew Fleming and Greg Jarratt since 2001.
The fruit for the 2018 Coldstream Hills Pinot Noir-Chardonnay was hand harvested from the south-facing slopes of the Deer Farm vineyard in Gladysdale. The wine received its tirage in November 2018 and was disgorged off lees in February 2025. Finished with a 5.75g/L dosage, it is a 57/43 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
