This cuvée is named after Etienne's grandfather Armand; vinified with 25% whole clusters.
Here too discreet wood is present on the cool and restrained nose of herbal tea-inflected aromas of red raspberry and newly turned earth. The supple, vibrant and detailed medium weight flavors possess very good volume and richness, all wrapped in a bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that is sufficiently compact to need at least some patience.

‘Named for the grandfather, a blend of the plots which he bought in the 1930s. Some have been replanted since so not necessarily old vines, but the best terroirs: Dominode, Julbigne, Plante des Bois and the older parts of Essards. Made with 25% whole bunch vinification, and aged in 45% new wood. A dense bright purple, with perhaps the highest class nose of the three cuvées. Rich and racy with good acidity, the best balanced between fruit and tannins. Fine long finish. A substantial wine with a good future. Drink from 2025-2030.
