Full-bodied and texturally rich Rhone-style old vine blend
62/38% marsanne/roussanne from vines planted between 1973 and ’85. The varieties were picked and made separately with blending just before bottling. Both were fermented in tank before being 10 months in seasoned oak. A bright green gold. Year in and year out, this wine delivers the goods. Pure fruited with stone and orchard fruits, orange blossom, fresh ginger and a touch of spice. It's mouth-filling and textured yet super fresh. Finishes long and with a little apricot pith and fresh lime. Excellent. Drink to 2030.
97 points & Special Value Philip Rich for Halliday Wine Companion, August 2023
Medium-light yellow colour; a fuller bodied dry white with texture and fleshy richness, there is weight without heaviness and the finish is refreshing. A trace of oiliness in the mouth-feel is typical of the grape. Very smart wine. Drink to 2033.
94 points Huon Hooke for The Real Review, January 2024
A mid-weighted iteration of a classic Rhone blend, exuding tatami straw, lanolin, beeswax and glazed quince across a splay of beautifully tuned phenolics, the essence of the structural latticework as much as the punchy freshness. Drink or hold.

Yeringberg was established in 1863, with the vineyard forming a small part of the large Yarra Valley grazing property of the de Pury family who remain its custodians today. The original Old Vineyard plantings were pulled by 1921 but re-established from 1969 onwards with further expansions through the planting of the Viognier, Shiraz and Cabernet focused Front Drive vineyard in 1999 and two additional parcels in 2021, one dedicated to Pinot Noir, the other mirroring the varietal makeup of the Old Vineyard.
Winemaker Sandra de Pury continues her family’s legacy with a style that is both respectful of tradition and modern in its precision. This white wine blends Old Vineyard fruit from Marsanne vines planted in 1973 and Australia's oldest known Roussanne vines planted in 1983.
Good Rhone-inspired white wines work well with rich or slippery textures and gentle aromatic spices. This would be a treat with French-style roasted veal sweetbreads with saffron and leeks, or a Moroccan tagine of chickpeas, pumpkin and preserved lemon.
