Dark, inky and opaque in the glass. Deep, brooding aromas of graphite, ferrous earth, florals, smoked meats, spice and pepper. Full bodied, rich, mouth-filling and multi-faceted. Very pure and dark fruit driven with real depth, presence and purity. The tannins are firm, textured and deliver shape and savouriness and the acidity has brightness and lift. A compelling shiraz, with power and precision 27 AUG 2023 Drink 2023–2038

Dark and intense, Emily's Paddock seems to walk a bolder road than it once did. Cabernet franc florals are fully pliant to be slowly revealed with air and time. Bramble, black fruits, jalapeño, licorice, sage, bitter chocolate and vanilla aromas introduce a wine that moves like a medium-bodied shiraz but elicits power and intensity. Enmeshed in fine grain tannins, there are many layers yet to be discovered here.

Immediately recognizable as a highly typical Emily’s Paddock. From its depth of colour and individual, perfumed, minty nose, across its full spicy palate, beautifully balanced yet powerful grape and French oak derived chalky tannins to its extremely long, natural acid finish.
