Fine vanilla aromas complement fresh almonds and citrus fruit in this wine, creating a focused and vibrant profile with wild white flowers weaving through. Piercing acidity animates a complex palate of light pithy citrus, baked pears, and salty alluvial wet stone. With good concentration for the vintage, it offers a long yet elegant finish. Enjoyable now.

Nicely broad and rich in aromas but kept refined and elegant in the Drouhin style, with fresh apples, crisp pears, minerals and a hint of butter. This has the purity and polish of the appellation and is tempting to drink now. Best after 2027.

Joseph Drouhin Meursault from the Côte de Beaune is a classic expression of one of Burgundy’s most beloved white wine appellations, brought to life by one of the region’s most respected houses. With a winemaking legacy dating back to 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin has become synonymous with precision, elegance, and respect for terroir. Their Meursault is no exception—crafted with Chardonnay grown in limestone-rich soils that give the wine both finesse and structure.

The vineyards around Meursault are famous for producing Chardonnays that are generous yet refined, and Drouhin’s take is all about balance. The fruit is hand-harvested, and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, around 20 percent of which are new. The wine then ages for 12 to 15 months on lees, adding texture and complexity without losing freshness.

In the glass, expect aromas of ripe white peach, almond blossom, and hazelnut, with undertones of lemon curd and flinty minerality. The palate opens with a creamy, rounded texture, offering notes of pear, fresh butter, and a flicker of vanilla from the oak. A bright seam of acidity cuts through, leading to a finish that’s both long and refreshingly mineral.

This Meursault pairs beautifully with lobster in beurre blanc, roast chicken with tarragon, or a wild mushroom risotto. It’s also a cellar-worthy wine, capable of developing more nuttiness and honeyed notes over the next 5 to 8 years.
