The Miotto family has been cultivating vines in the hills of Valdobbiadene for generations, producing Prosecco that reflects the character of this beautiful corner of the Veneto. Their small estate focuses on traditional vineyard practices and careful winemaking, with Federa representing a particularly charming expression of the region's celebrated sparkling wine. Far removed from mass produced Prosecco, this is a wine with genuine personality, freshness and a lovely sense of place.
Made predominantly from Glera grown on the steep hillsides of Valdobbiadene, the 2022 Federa Brut benefits from the area's excellent drainage and favourable growing conditions. The Charmat method preserves the grape's delicate fragrance and lively fruit, while the Brut style keeps the finish crisp and refreshing.
Pale straw with a faint green glint and a fine, lively bead. Fresh pear, green apple and white peach mingle with lemon blossom and a little almond. The palate is bright and beautifully balanced, with juicy orchard fruit, gentle bubbles and refreshing citrus acidity. A delicate floral note and subtle mineral character lead into a clean, dry finish.
Try it with Venetian cicchetti, zucchini and mint fritters or grilled prawns with lemon and parsley. It would also be delicious with whipped ricotta on toasted sourdough, topped with fresh peas and a little lemon zest.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2028. Best enjoyed while its fresh fruit and delicate aromatics remain vibrant.
