There is just enough wood present to warrant pointing out framing the ripe and fresh aromas of petrol, rosemary oil and a variety of white orchard fruit. The attractively textured medium weight flavors also possess surprisingly good power while offering very good depth and persistence on the balanced finale. This is more refined than is typical for villages-level Chassagne and worth considering.

Olivier Leflaive Chassagne-Montrachet is a classic expression of Burgundy’s renowned Côte de Beaune, showcasing the finesse, complexity, and minerality that define the region’s finest Chardonnays. Olivier Leflaive, a master of white Burgundy, is known for his commitment to meticulous vineyard selection and precise winemaking, crafting wines that highlight the unique characteristics of each terroir. Sourced from select parcels in Chassagne-Montrachet, this Chardonnay embodies the balance of richness and tension that makes the appellation so highly regarded.

Pale gold in color with a brilliant clarity, the wine opens with aromas of ripe citrus, white peach, and honeysuckle, complemented by subtle notes of toasted almond, flint, and vanilla from careful oak aging. The palate is beautifully structured, offering layers of lemon curd, baked apple, and hazelnut, underpinned by a fine acid backbone that provides freshness and length. A touch of creamy texture from lees aging adds depth, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish with lingering notes of wet stone and spice.

This Chassagne-Montrachet pairs effortlessly with grilled lobster, pan-seared scallops, and roast chicken with tarragon. Its depth and minerality also complement truffle risotto, creamy cheeses like Comté, or white fish with beurre blanc sauce. While drinking beautifully now, it has the potential to age gracefully for 8–12 years, developing further complexity and texture over time.
