Yellow apple and chamomile form the aromatic core, accented by a gentle touch of vanilla bean that adds roundness without masking the fruit. There's a quiet depth here, with layered flavors unfolding steadily across the palate. Balanced and composed, it builds toward a long, nuanced finish that underscores its Grand Cru pedigree.

Stretching across the sunlit slopes above Guebwiller, the Saering Grand Cru vineyard is one of Alsace's finest sites for Riesling. Its unique mix of limestone, sandstone and marl soils gives rise to wines of remarkable precision, freshness and ageing potential. Domaine Schlumberger has been cultivating these historic vineyards since 1810, building a reputation for producing some of the region's most expressive and site driven wines.

The 2023 vintage provided ideal conditions for Riesling, delivering fruit with exceptional purity and balance. Saering is renowned for producing wines that combine vibrant citrus fruit with a distinctive mineral backbone, often displaying a more refined and linear profile than some of Alsace's richer Grand Crus. Careful vineyard management and restrained winemaking allow the character of this exceptional terroir to shine through.

Pale gold with bright green highlights, the bouquet reveals aromas of lime blossom, lemon zest and white peach layered with notes of jasmine, crushed stone and citrus oil. As the wine opens, hints of pear, grapefruit and subtle spice emerge, adding further complexity. The palate is beautifully focused, delivering flavours of lime, grapefruit and stone fruits supported by lively acidity and a fine mineral structure. There is impressive concentration and tension throughout, while the finish is long, dry and refreshingly precise, lingering with citrus and stony nuances.

This is a superb partner for grilled lobster, scallops, roast pork, smoked trout, sushi or aged Comté. While already captivating in its youth, the balance and structure will reward long term cellaring, revealing additional layers of complexity over the coming decades.
