Firm and savoury with fleshy, succulent dark fruit and spice
95 points Gold, 2025 Sydney Royal Wine Show
A fruit-forward, captivating blend of tempranillo and graciano supported by appropriate amounts of ripe, chalky tannin. The intense dark fruit, laced with subtle, peppery spice, is wrapped around a succulent spine of acidity, which gives the wine a mouth-watering quality. The savoury tension makes it incredibly food-friendly, and a plate of fuet or manchego would complete the picture nicely. Drink to 2028.

Dark cherry red in the glass. Lifted aromas of bramble, sap, blackberry, satsuma plum, white pepper, Asian spice and nutty oak. Firm and fleshy, with lashings of blue fruits, pepper, spice, vanilla and an earthy woodsiness. There's lovely shape and structure here and the acidity delivers real ping and cut. Quite delicious. Drink to 2035.

Hungerford Hill is a Hunter Valley based winery established in 1967. Their offer has slowly grown to take in the Hilltops and Tumbarumba regions of NSW, while the presence in the Hunter has grown through purchases of Sweetwater and Dalwood. The three names remain distinct but share the expertise of Hungerford Hill’s viticultural and winemaking teams.
Current Chief Winemaker is Pierre Durand, who has worked at many of the biggest local names, including Tyrrell’s, Brokenwood and Margan.
