Deep ruby colour with a lifted aroma of blackcurrant, mulberry and white pepper. Medium to full bodied: the core sits with black fruit, olive tapenade and hints of tobacco. Then as it glides with grace, a pepper and dark spice note builds into the long and fine finish. Drink 2025 to 2033.

The Saturno family has been at the helm of Longview Vineyard since 2007, building on the estate's reputation as one of the Adelaide Hills' most awarded single vineyard producers. The 65-hectare property at Macclesfield sits on the south-eastern ridge of the Mount Lofty Ranges, with northern slopes ripening the red varieties consistently while cooling afternoon breezes from the coast preserve freshness and natural acidity.
The LV blends Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced entirely from the estate. Fruit was harvested in cool conditions, fermented on skins for 14 days and matured for 12 months in a combination of new French and older American oak hogsheads.
The 2023 is a medium to full-bodied red with a lifted, fragrant character. Blackcurrant, mulberry and white pepper on the nose, with black fruit, olive tapenade and hints of tobacco building through the palate. Fine tannins and dark spice carry through to a long, composed finish.
Serve alongside a grilled lamb rack, a nice beef burger or a hearty pasta with a rich meat sauce.
