Svelte and rich red with long and persistent flavours
Silver at the 2025 Adelaide Hills Wine Show
Very even, svelte and shaped by fine, silty tannin, with a good sense of juiciness despite that. Dark cherry, cola, cranberry, aniseed, game meat and salted licorice are in the shopping cart of descriptors. Such a delightful slurp to this wine, density yet freshness, exceptional length and palate-staining persistence. Wonderful drinking here; a touch of class, depth, richness and boldness in the conversation. Drink to 2035.

Medium to full ruby red. Blueberry, rose petal and pepper spice aromas. Silky textured palate with red and blue fruit forward, pepper spice and musk lifting through the flow. Good length with a supple, fanning finish. Drink to 2035.

The Saturno family has been at the helm of Longview Vineyard since 2007, building on the estate’s reputation as one of the Adelaide Hills’ most awarded single vineyard producers.
Longview Macclesfield Syrah from the Adelaide Hills is a finely structured, cool climate take on Syrah that leans toward elegance, spice and savoury detail rather than sheer power. The fruit comes from Longview’s steep, elevated vineyards at Macclesfield, one of the coolest pockets of the Hills, where altitude, constant airflow and ironstone rich sandy loam soils slow ripening and preserve freshness.
Most of the fruit is de-stemmed, with approximately 20% retain as whole clusters. The wine is matured in Frech oak puncheons of which a modest 10% are new for each vintage.
