Olivier Leflaive has been a leading name in white Burgundy since establishing his own business in 1984. With family roots in Puligny-Montrachet, he has built a reputation for Chardonnay that captures the character of the Côte de Beaune's finest vineyards. En Remilly is one of Saint-Aubin's most highly regarded Premier Crus, celebrated for wines that combine remarkable finesse, concentration and mineral freshness.
Positioned high on the hillside beside the Grand Cru vineyards of Chevalier-Montrachet, En Remilly enjoys a superb southeast facing exposure and thin, rocky limestone soils. The generous 2023 vintage has given the Chardonnay lovely fruit concentration, balanced by the natural freshness of this elevated site.
Bright pale gold with delicate green reflections. White peach, ripe pear and lemon zest mingle with acacia blossom, fresh almond and a subtle hint of flint. The palate is beautifully composed, with succulent orchard fruit, silky texture and vibrant citrus acidity. A fine chalky character runs through the wine, leading to a long, elegant finish with touches of hazelnut and sea salt.
Try it with pan roasted snapper and a light saffron sauce, delicate prawn and chive dumplings, or a golden tart of leeks and aged Gruyère. Its depth and freshness also make it a wonderful match for grilled marron with lemon and fresh herbs.
Cellaring: Drink 2027 to 2038. An impressive Premier Cru with the structure and freshness to develop beautifully over the next decade.
