Gently exotic but not overdone aromas of ripe pears, honeysuckle and just a hint of ginger precede the palate, which is mouth-filling, balanced and long. Subtle and engaging, this would be a terrific match for pan-fried whiting and the like.

TarraWarra Roussanne Marsanne Viognier from the Yarra Valley is a beautifully textured and aromatic white blend that showcases the elegance of Rhône varieties in a cool climate setting. Crafted by winemaker Sarah Fagan, it captures TarraWarra’s signature style of purity, balance, and gentle complexity. Each variety plays a distinct role: Roussanne adds structure and spice, Marsanne brings richness and texture, and Viognier contributes perfume and exotic fruit.

The grapes are grown on TarraWarra’s estate vineyard, where the region’s long, mild growing season allows the fruit to ripen slowly, preserving acidity and flavour detail. Fermentation takes place in a mix of stainless steel and seasoned French oak barrels, followed by time on lees to build creaminess and depth without losing freshness.

In the glass it glows pale gold with a hint of green. The aroma is inviting and complex, showing white peach, apricot, and pear layered with honeysuckle, almond, and a touch of spice. The palate is smooth and textural, revealing stone fruit and citrus supported by gentle oak and a savoury, mineral finish. There is a quiet richness here balanced by the vibrant lift typical of the Yarra Valley.
