Medium-full colour with a trace of purple still lingering at the rim; a magical bouquet of sweet rose-petal floral notes overlying new kid leather, sweet tobacco, vegetal (whole-bunch?) touches and freshly turned earth. The palate shows this wine is now in its prime of life: gorgeously sweet, succulent fruit of great detail saturates the senses. It's concentrated without being overdone, but has profound depth of flavour that lasts and lasts, the wonderful array of tastes lingering on and on. A new benchmark for this producer? Drink to 2037.

98 points Huon Hooke for The Real Review, August 2026

Trahere is one of the flagship single vineyard Pinot Noirs from Ten Minutes by Tractor, a winery that has become synonymous with world class cool climate winemaking on the Mornington Peninsula. Guided by head winemaker Imogen Dillon, the estate continues to craft wines that capture the individuality of each vineyard, earning a devoted following among collectors and Pinot Noir enthusiasts alike.

The Trahere Vineyard sits in the cool, elevated heart of Main Ridge, where maritime breezes, ancient soils and a long growing season produce Pinot Noir of remarkable perfume, structure and finesse. Gentle extraction and thoughtful oak maturation preserve the vineyard's purity, allowing the site to speak with clarity and precision.

The colour is a brilliant ruby red with youthful crimson highlights. Aromas of wild cherry, raspberry and red plum are layered with rose petals, whole bunch spice and forest floor. The palate is finely detailed and beautifully textured, weaving vibrant red berry fruits through silky tannins and lively acidity. Notes of dried herbs, earthy complexity and subtle French oak linger through a long, graceful finish that is unmistakably Mornington Peninsula.

A magnificent partner for roast duck, quail, mushroom pithivier, grilled salmon or herb roasted chicken. While captivating in its youth, this single vineyard Pinot Noir has the balance and pedigree to evolve beautifully over the next decade.
