Bisci Verdicchio di Matelica captures the freshness of Marche with vibrant citrus, crisp minerality and authentic Italian charm.
For generations, Bisci has been one of the leading names in Verdicchio di Matelica, producing wines that beautifully capture the unique character of this small inland appellation in Italy's Marche region. Family owned since the 1970s, the estate is renowned for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and low-intervention winemaking, allowing Verdicchio to express its purity, freshness and remarkable ageing potential.
The 2024 vintage delivered beautifully expressive fruit, with warm days and cool mountain nights preserving vibrant acidity while encouraging outstanding flavour development. Grown on limestone and clay soils, the grapes were gently handled to retain their aromatic precision and distinctive mineral character.
Pale straw with green tinged highlights, the bouquet reveals aromas of lemon zest, green apple and white peach layered with wildflowers, fennel and delicate almond notes. The palate is crisp and beautifully textured, combining vibrant citrus and orchard fruit with refreshing acidity and a fine mineral thread. Long, focused and effortlessly elegant, the finish lingers with saline freshness and the subtle bitter almond note that is the hallmark of great Verdicchio.
An outstanding partner for grilled prawns, fresh oysters, seafood risotto, roast chicken with herbs or creamy burrata. Equally enjoyable as an aperitif or at the table, this is one of Italy's finest expressions of Verdicchio.
