Domaine Collotte is a family run estate based in Marsannay, with Philippe Collotte and his children Isabelle and Pierre Alain steadily building a reputation for honest, site driven wines that overdeliver at every level. While Marsannay is better known for reds, their whites, often drawn from limestone rich parcels just beyond the village boundaries, carry a freshness and clarity that make them quietly compelling.
The 2024 Bourgogne Blanc leans into that cooler, mineral driven style. Citrus leads the way, lemon zest and a squeeze of lime, followed by green apple and a gentle note of white peach. There is a clean, chalky edge running underneath, giving the wine its structure, with just a faint touch of almond adding a bit of softness.
On the palate it is bright and finely balanced, light to medium bodied with crisp acidity providing drive and length. The fruit is clean and precise, flowing into a dry, refreshing finish with a subtle mineral note that lingers. It feels pure and uncomplicated in the best sense, everything in place, nothing overworked.
Winemaking is kept simple and controlled, largely in stainless steel to preserve freshness, with minimal oak influence so the vineyard character can come through clearly.
This is a natural with lighter dishes. Grilled fish, prawns, roast chicken or a fresh salad all work beautifully, and it also pairs well with goat’s cheese where the acidity can cut through.
Right in its element while young and vibrant, offering a fresh, mineral take on everyday Burgundy that still carries a sense of place.
