Dönnhoff Dellchen Grosses Gewächs Riesling offers lime, peach and mineral purity with Nahe elegance and vibrant acidity.
Exceptionally refined and racy, this has terrific Amalfi lemon freshness and white peach fruit on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. Incredible drive in the super-long finish. The aromatic finesse of the wild flower, peach and Amalfi lemon nose is almost as great as the textural finesse. Incredible delicacy in the super-long finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.

The Dönnhoff family have been crafting exceptional Riesling in the Nahe for more than 250 years, with Cornelius Dönnhoff continuing a legacy that has made the estate one of Germany's most revered producers. Through meticulous vineyard work and restrained winemaking, each Grosses Gewächs reflects the unique identity of its vineyard with remarkable precision and longevity.
Dellchen is among the Nahe's most celebrated grand cru vineyards, a dramatic amphitheatre of steep slate and volcanic soils overlooking the village of Oberhausen. The combination of fractured slate, volcanic porphyry and cool air currents produces Rieslings of remarkable tension, mineral complexity and elegance, with every vintage revealing the vineyard's distinctive character.
The colour is a brilliant pale gold with youthful green highlights. Aromas of lime zest, white peach and grapefruit mingle with white flowers, wet stone and delicate smoky notes. The palate is vibrant and beautifully focused, combining crystalline citrus fruit with fine texture and a driving mineral spine. Layers of saline freshness and chalky precision carry through an exceptionally long, refined finish.
Magnificent with grilled lobster, Dover sole, roasted scallops, white asparagus or delicate sushi and sashimi. While captivating today, this is a Riesling destined to evolve beautifully for two decades or more.
