Few vineyards tell Burgundy's story quite like Clos de Vougeot. First cultivated by Cistercian monks in the 12th century, this legendary walled Grand Cru remains one of the Côte de Nuits' most historic sites. Domaine Faiveley, founded in 1825, is now led by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, with Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking. The vineyard's varied limestone and clay soils give Pinot Noir impressive depth and structure.
Deep ruby red with crimson highlights. Black cherry, ripe raspberry and dark plum mingle with violet, liquorice and woodland spice. The challenging 2024 vintage favours freshness and aromatic definition, with finely structured tannins, vibrant acidity and a persistent earthy finish.
A magnificent companion for roast duck with sour cherries, venison with juniper and beetroot, or a wild mushroom and chestnut pithivier.
Cellaring: 2030 to 2045+. A distinguished Grand Cru that should reward patience with greater savoury complexity and beautifully integrated tannins.
