Mazis Chambertin is one of Gevrey Chambertin's great Grand Crus, celebrated for Pinot Noir with extraordinary depth, structure and ageing potential. Situated beside Clos de Bèze, its limestone and clay soils produce wines of remarkable concentration and savoury complexity. Domaine Faiveley, founded in 1825, remains family owned, with Erwan and Eve Faiveley guiding the estate and Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking.
Deep ruby red with vibrant crimson highlights. Black cherry, wild raspberry and dark plum mingle with violet, liquorice and subtle earthy spice. The challenging 2024 vintage emphasises freshness and aromatic definition, with concentrated fruit, firm yet polished tannins and a long, mineral finish. Powerful, beautifully structured and destined to develop greater complexity with age.
Magnificent with roast duck and blackberries, venison with juniper and beetroot, or porcini and chestnut pithivier. A serious Burgundy deserving of a memorable dinner.
Cellaring: 2030 to 2045+. An exceptional Grand Cru with the structure and concentration for extended ageing.
