A tiny walled vineyard with a remarkable sense of place, Clos des Issarts is one of Gevrey Chambertin's more intriguing Premier Crus. This Faiveley monopole, owned exclusively by the domaine, sits just below the celebrated Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru. Founded in 1825, the family estate is now led by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, with Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking. Limestone rich soils contribute finesse, freshness and distinctive mineral character.
Bright ruby red with delicate crimson reflections. Wild cherry, raspberry and redcurrant mingle with violet, rose petals and subtle woodland spice. The cooler 2024 vintage favours fragrance and elegance, with lively acidity, finely woven tannins and a persistent savoury finish. A beautifully composed Pinot Noir with impressive depth for such a delicate expression.
Delicious with roasted quail and sour cherries, crispy duck dumplings with shiitake mushrooms, or a golden porcini and leek tart.
Cellaring: 2028 to 2040+. A refined Premier Cru with excellent potential to develop greater complexity and silky texture.
