High on the slopes of Gevrey Chambertin, La Combe aux Moines is a distinguished Premier Cru known for Pinot Noir with impressive depth and finesse. Its limestone rich soils and cooler hillside position encourage fragrant fruit, freshness and firm structure. Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley remains family owned, with Erwan and Eve Faiveley leading the estate and Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking.
Deep ruby red with crimson highlights. Black cherry, wild raspberry and violet mingle with liquorice, crushed stone and subtle woodland spice. The cooler 2024 vintage favours aromatic purity, lively acidity and beautifully defined tannins. Concentrated yet elegant, with a persistent mineral and savoury finish that promises lovely development with age.
Wonderful with duck breast and blackberries, porcini and chestnut ravioli, or roasted quail with thyme. For something different, try miso glazed eggplant with sesame and black garlic.
Cellaring: 2029 to 2042+. A serious Premier Cru with the structure to develop greater complexity over time.
