Lavaux Saint Jacques is one of Gevrey Chambertin's most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards, tucked into a cool valley beneath the Côte Saint Jacques. Its limestone rich soils and distinctive exposure produce Pinot Noir with remarkable fragrance, structure and ageing potential. Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley remains family owned, with Erwan and Eve Faiveley at the helm and Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking.
Brilliant ruby red with crimson highlights. Black cherry, wild raspberry and redcurrant mingle with violet, crushed stone and subtle earthy spice. The cooler 2024 vintage emphasises freshness and aromatic detail, with finely grained tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury mineral finish. Powerful enough to age beautifully, yet wonderfully elegant.
A delicious companion for duck breast with sour cherries, porcini and chestnut pithivier, or roasted quail with juniper and thyme. For something different, try miso glazed eggplant with black garlic.
Cellaring: 2029 to 2042+. A distinguished Premier Cru that should develop greater complexity and silky texture with careful ageing.
