Yields in Cazetiers were low; ‘ridiculous’ according to Jérôme Flous, down to just 14 barrels from 4ha. Luckily, what remains is delicious, with a pleasant perfume of cherry fruit, violets, earth and smoke. The texture is firm and tannic, very typical of Gevrey, and there is enough substance to carry this to a refined and distinguished finish. This should open in three to five years and will drink well over the next 20.

93 points Charles Curtis MW, Decanter

One of the lowest yields, along with Latricières. A mid crimson colour of moderate depth. Very perfumed, the red berries once again to the fore. I might have preferred something more mineral, and fortunately the Cazetiers fruit comes across a little fresher and more precise on the palate. Perhaps a little crunchier too at the finish. Drink from 2029-2036. Tasted Nov 2025

92 points Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Perched on the slopes above Gevrey Chambertin, Les Cazetiers is one of the village's most distinguished Premier Crus, celebrated for Pinot Noir with exceptional depth and ageing potential. Its limestone rich soils and elevated position contribute remarkable structure and mineral freshness. Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley remains family owned, with Erwan and Eve Faiveley at the helm and Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking.

Deep ruby red with crimson highlights. Black cherry, wild raspberry and dark plum mingle with violet, liquorice and subtle earthy spice. The cooler 2024 vintage has produced a beautifully defined expression, with concentrated fruit, firm yet polished tannins and lively acidity. Hints of crushed stone and woodland herbs linger through a long, savoury finish.

Wonderful with roast duck and blackberries, porcini and chestnut agnolotti, or venison with beetroot and juniper. Its earthy character would also complement roasted eggplant with black garlic and thyme.

Cellaring: 2030 to 2045+. A serious Premier Cru that will reward patience with greater aromatic complexity and beautifully integrated tannins
