2024 Heirloom Vineyards Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills

Heirloom Vineyards Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills is a fragrant, silky red that showcases the region’s cool climate finesse and the varietal’s delicate charm. Grown in high-altitude vineyards where long ripening seasons and chilly nights preserve aromatic lift and natural acidity, this Pinot is made in a style that focuses on purity, texture and site expression.

Hand picked and sorted fruit is fermented with wild yeasts, often including a portion of whole bunch to enhance structure and spice. The wine is matured in French oak barriques, mostly older, to build complexity without dominating the fine fruit character.

The nose opens with red cherry, cranberry, rose petal and subtle hints of forest floor and spice. On the palate it is light to medium bodied, with soft tannins, bright acidity and layers of red fruit, earth, and savoury herbs. There is a gentle, flowing texture and a fresh, persistent finish that makes it a pleasure to drink now, but with enough structure to reward short-term cellaring.

Food pairing: pairs beautifully with duck confit, roast chicken with thyme, mushroom and lentil stew or a beetroot and goat cheese tart. Also excellent with washed rind cheeses or seared salmon.

Cellar potential: drinking well now but will develop over the next 5 to 7 years, gaining earthy complexity and soft spice.
