A thoroughly beautiful McLaren Vale Grenache from Blewitt Springs that sits in the medium to light body zone, yet is both expressive and vibrant. Fragrances of rose petal and lavender, and subtle floral nuances. The palate is seamlessly integrated, with fine, chalky tannins and a slightly brick dust character adding further complexity. It’s so bright and energetic, and perfect drinking over the next few years. Drink 2026-2032.

From the home Bracken vineyard, the fruit is serious, from Blewitt Springs’ famous sandy soils, yet the mandate is early engagement and ready drinkability. Red fruits, cranberry, redcurrant and wild raspberry, along with a little black cherry, some anise, cola, cinnamon and amaro herbs. All is set at a medium pitch, accessible, approachable and delightful to drink, the structure supportive of standalone drinking and application at table. Drink 2025-2029.

Blewitt Springs is one of McLaren Vale's most celebrated sub-regions for Grenache, and the Jericho Bracken vineyard is at its heart. The soils are ancient Maslin sands. Up to 56 million years old, nutrient poor and free-draining, they stress the vines naturally, concentrating flavour and producing the fine-grained tannin structure the sub-region is known for. Sea breezes moderate warm growing season temperatures and preserve the bright red fruit character that distinguishes Blewitt Springs Grenache from the warmer parts of the Vale.
Hand harvested and fermented in open vessels with gentle daily plunging, pressed off skins after one week to preserve freshness and avoid harsh tannin extraction. Six months in seasoned French oak.
Bright crimson, the nose is pretty and perfumed with cranberry, cherry and violet notes framed by warming baking spice. The palate is juicy and fresh with fine silky tannins and a clean, fruit-driven finish.
An early release style, built for drinking rather than cellaring, and best served slightly cooled. Would be an easy match across any BYO spread, a charcuterie board or some tapas.
Drink now through 2027.
