The second release of rosé for MMAD, and from all varieties on the old vineyard: grenache, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and chenin blanc. Like the 2023, the proportions are a mystery, and lifted herbal notes of cabernet again lead the aromatics, but the colour has been dialled down to a classic coral pink. Grenache lends red-fruited detail and floral lilt. There’s spice, too. And flavour and texture aplenty. That’s also like the 2023, but here the balance, detail and vibrancy are much more finely tuned. Excellent.

MMAD Vineyard Blewitt Springs Rosé from McLaren Vale is a beautifully textured and expressive dry rosé, crafted from old-vine Grenache grown in the sandy soils of Blewitt Springs. MMAD Vineyard, founded by renowned winemakers Michael Hill Smith MW, Martin Shaw, Adam Wadewitz, and David LeMire MW, is dedicated to producing site-driven wines that showcase the purity and elegance of McLaren Vale’s best vineyards. With a focus on minimal intervention and thoughtful winemaking, this rosé reflects both the rich history of the region and a modern, refined approach to Grenache.

Pale salmon pink in color, the wine opens with delicate aromas of wild strawberries, white peach, and citrus blossom, layered with hints of pomegranate and dried herbs. On the palate, it is crisp and lively, with juicy red berry flavors, blood orange, and a subtle saline minerality adding depth and freshness. A finely structured mouthfeel, balanced acidity, and a long, dry finish make this rosé both refreshing and complex.

This Blewitt Springs Rosé pairs effortlessly with fresh seafood, summer salads, and Mediterranean-style dishes. Its delicate texture and bright acidity also complement charcuterie, grilled prawns, or soft cheeses like chèvre. Designed for early drinking, it offers immediate enjoyment while retaining enough depth to evolve over the next couple of years.
