Moreau Naudet has earned a loyal following for Chablis that feels both pure and quietly expressive, a legacy shaped by the late Stéphane Moreau and now carried forward by Virginie Moreau. Even at the Petit Chablis level, the same philosophy applies, careful vineyard work, old vine parcels where possible, and a light touch in the cellar to let the limestone soils speak.
Drawn from vineyards on the higher, Portlandian limestone slopes that sit above the classic Chablis sites, this is a fresher, more immediate style. Bright citrus leads the way, lemon and lime with a crisp green apple edge, backed by a delicate floral lift. There is a clean, chalky note running underneath that keeps it firmly in place.
The palate is lively and refreshing, with zippy acidity giving it real energy. It is light on its feet but not thin, flavours staying in that citrus and orchard fruit spectrum before finishing dry, clean and quietly persistent with a subtle mineral snap.
This is made for easy, food friendly drinking. Fresh oysters, prawns, or a simple plate of fish and chips with a squeeze of lemon all work beautifully. It also pairs nicely with salads, goat’s cheese or lighter dishes where freshness is key.
Best enjoyed young while that brightness is front and centre, offering a pure and approachable take on Chablis that still carries the house signature.
