Paolo Scavino has been one of Barolo's benchmark estates since 1921, with the Scavino family earning worldwide acclaim for wines that combine precision, innovation and deep respect for Piedmont's great vineyards. Today Enrico Scavino and daughters Enrica and Elisa continue the family's pursuit of purity and regional expression across every wine they produce.
Although labelled simply as Vino da Tavola Rosso, this is far more than an everyday red. Crafted from carefully selected Piedmont fruit, it reflects the Scavino family's philosophy of producing wines with freshness, balance and drinkability while showcasing the vibrant fruit and savoury charm for which the Langhe is renowned.
The colour is a bright ruby red with youthful purple highlights. Aromas of red cherry, blackberry and ripe plum mingle with violet, sweet spice and a touch of dried herbs. The palate is supple and energetic, combining juicy berry fruits with silky tannins and lively acidity. Hints of liquorice and earthy spice emerge through the finish, giving the wine impressive character and length.
An ideal partner for wood fired pizza, pappardelle with beef ragù, grilled Italian sausages, mushroom risotto or aged Pecorino. Enjoy over the next three to five years while its vibrant fruit and effortless drinkability are at their best.
