On the nose, initial cool hints of limestone and chalky crushed rock, with notes of yellow peach, mandarin and linden blossom. Juicy and fresh on the palate, notes of ripe yellow fruit, a mineral base, good acidity and a long, salty finish. Great on its own, but also a versatile food wine.

Seguinot Bordet Petit Chablis from Burgundy is a vibrant and finely crafted Chardonnay that captures the purity, minerality, and precision for which Chablis is celebrated. Produced by the Seguinot-Bordet family, whose winemaking tradition in Chablis dates back to 1590, this wine reflects both deep regional heritage and modern finesse under the direction of Jean-François Bordet. The Petit Chablis is made from vineyards situated on the higher slopes surrounding the main Chablis appellation, where cool breezes and limestone-rich soils bring freshness and clarity to the fruit.

The grapes are hand picked from vines planted on Kimmeridgian and Portlandian limestone, which impart the signature chalky minerality of Chablis. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel using temperature control to preserve delicate aromatics, followed by maturation on fine lees for several months to enhance texture and complexity. Bordet’s gentle approach ensures a wine that is precise, expressive, and quintessentially Chablis in style.

In the glass it gleams pale gold with green reflections. The aroma is crisp and enticing, revealing notes of green apple, lemon zest, white flowers, and crushed seashell. The palate is lively and refreshing, offering citrus, pear, and flint flavours wrapped in fine acidity and a clean, mineral-driven texture. The finish is long, pure, and delicately saline, perfectly capturing the limestone soils of northern Burgundy.

It pairs beautifully with oysters, seafood platters, grilled fish, or fresh goat cheese. It also complements light poultry or creamy pasta dishes. Best enjoyed in its youth for its vibrancy and lift, though it can develop added roundness and complexity over the next three to five years.
