Sunshine, a long lunch and a beautifully chilled glass of Provençal rosé. Whispering Angel has become something of a modern classic, helping introduce a whole new generation of wine lovers to the pleasures of dry, elegant pink wine. Created by Sacha Lichine at Château d'Esclans in 2006, with the expertise of renowned winemaker Patrick Léon, it has grown into one of the world's most recognisable rosés without losing its distinctly French charm.
Made primarily from Grenache, with Cinsault and Rolle contributing freshness and aromatic interest, the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Provence. Gentle pressing and temperature controlled fermentation preserve the delicate flavours and beautiful pale colour, creating a wine that is wonderfully refreshing yet has enough substance to accompany food.
Delicate ballet slipper pink with shimmering salmon reflections. Fresh strawberries, white peach and juicy pink grapefruit mingle with citrus blossom and a suggestion of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is crisp, dry and beautifully balanced, with subtle red berry flavours, refreshing acidity and a silky, almost weightless texture. A gentle mineral note and whisper of sea salt complete the clean, elegant finish.
Perfect for a leisurely lunch of grilled prawns with lemon and oregano, tuna tartare with avocado and sesame, or crispy zucchini fritters with whipped feta. It would also be delightful alongside a Provençal seafood salad with fennel, olives and fresh herbs.
Cellaring: Drink within two to three years of release to enjoy its delicate fruit and lively freshness.
