94 points Gold Adelaide Hills Wine Show 2025
A juicy and vibrant rendering of the variety with hallmark passionfruit scents and flavours, similarly so for cut grass, crystallised ginger, white pepper, basil leaf and pine resin. A little waxiness in texture adds a little X-factor, too. A bit wishy-washy, but the pleasantness of fruit and distinct varietal character works magic. Drink 2026 to 2028.

The Saturno family has been at the helm of Longview Vineyard since 2007, building on the estate's reputation as one of the Adelaide Hills' most awarded single vineyard producers. The Whippet — named for the slender, swift breed that mirrors the wine's character — has been a staple of the range since the first vintage and remains one of the estate's most popular wines.
Fruit comes from the highest altitude blocks on the property at up to 410 metres above sea level. Shoot and bunch thinning keep yields in check and flavour development early. Fruit is crushed, chilled and given slight skin contact before cool fermentation in stainless steel, with a small proportion barrel fermented for added texture and depth.
The 2025 is vibrant and immediately expressive — passionfruit, crystallised ginger and cut grass on the nose, with basil leaf, white pepper and a touch of waxy texture adding interest. The palate is racy and bright, with natural acidity driving a clean, refreshing finish.
Enjoy well chilled as an aperitif or with fresh oysters, grilled prawns or a simple herb-dressed salad.
