53% Mourvèdre, 41% Grenache, 4% Counoise, 1% Carignan, 1% Cinsault
Yangarra Circle Rosé is a beautifully expressive and textural McLaren Vale rosé that shows just how serious and site driven pink wine can be. It comes from Yangarra’s biodynamically farmed estate vineyard in Blewitt Springs, an elevated, sandy corner of McLaren Vale where ironstone and deep sand give wines fragrance, finesse and a distinct savoury edge. This is one of the coolest and most refined parts of the Vale.
Yangarra is led by winemaker Peter Fraser, one of Australia’s great champions of Grenache and Mediterranean varieties. Farming is biodynamic, and everything is done with a deep respect for soil health and vineyard expression. Circle Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan, inspired by the great rosés of southern France but unmistakably shaped by Blewitt Springs terroir.
In the glass, the wine shows wild strawberry, raspberry and pink grapefruit, layered with rose petal, dried herbs and a gentle savoury note. The palate is dry, finely textured and mouthwatering, with bright acidity and a long, chalky finish that gives it real seriousness and food appeal.
This is a brilliant rosé for the table. Grilled seafood, prawns, salmon, charcuterie, Middle Eastern dishes or fresh summer salads all work beautifully with its freshness and savoury detail.
Yangarra Circle Rosé is designed to be enjoyed young for its vibrancy and perfume, though it will also hold its shape over a couple of years, gaining more complexity with time. It is one of Australia’s most thoughtful and terroir driven rosés.
