Yering Station consistently delivers the goods at this pricepoint, and this is no exception. Brightly coloured with aromas of stone fruits, yellow apple and just a touch of lemon oil. It's textured through the mid-palate before finishing gently pithy and long. Tick. Drink 2026 to 2028.
93 points Special Value Philip Rich for Halliday Wine Companion, March 2026
Yering Station stands on the site of Victoria’s first vineyard, planted in 1838 in the upper parts of the Yarra Valley. Under chief winemaker Brendan Hawker, the estate produces wines across several tiers that draw on the cool climate and elevation of a region known for wines of natural freshness and finesse.
The Village wines are classic expressions of the varieties the Yarra Valley is known for. Winemaker input is kept minimal for these wines, letting the bright, vibrant fruit flavours speak for themselves. The wines are approachable on release.
Ideal spring conditions in 2025 led to excellent fruit set and beautifully balanced canopies. A warm summer provided optimal ripening and healthy crops rich in flavour.
This wine invites you in with aromas of ripe stone fruit and yellow apple, with spicy herbal and lemon oil notes adding to an overall fresh feel. The generous flavours echo what the aromas promised, and there’s a textured creaminess to it, framed by baking spices. A bright Chardonnay that finishes with a light touch of citrus.
Elegant enough to impress, versatile enough for midweek meals. Good company to sweet potato tempura, Korean crispy seafood pancake or chicken yakitori with a light tare glaze.
