Great value benchmark expression of a classic Australian white wine style
Classic young Pewsey Vale with lemon, lime and grapefruit, white flowers, fresh herbs and wet stone. The palate is tight and energetic with piercing citrus, mouthwatering acidity and a lovely mineral drive. Quite expressive already but still plenty to unravel in bottle. Drink or hold.
94 points Ryan Montgomery for James Suckling, September 2026
From the high, cool slopes of Eden Valley, this Riesling delivers purity, drive and classic lime scented precision at a price that makes it one of Australia’s great white wine bargains. Pewsey Vale has been crafting Riesling since the 1840s, making it one of the country’s most historic vineyards, and the altitude and rocky soils here naturally produce wines of piercing acidity and long lived structure.
Delicious now for its vibrancy, it will also cellar beautifully for ten to fifteen years, developing classic toast, honey and beeswax complexity. Few wines offer this level of pedigree, freshness and ageing ability at such outstanding value.
