Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut is a vibrant, finely tuned sparkling wine from the heart of Prosecco’s most prestigious zone — the steep hills around Valdobbiadene in Veneto. Made exclusively from Glera grapes grown on these elevated slopes, this wine is classified as DOCG, the highest quality tier in the Prosecco hierarchy, and it shows in the wine’s clarity, structure and elegance.
The Glera grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed before undergoing secondary fermentation using the Charmat method. What sets this wine apart is its Brut style, meaning it is drier than the more common Extra Dry Prosecco. This allows the fruit, minerality and floral aromatics to shine without being masked by sweetness.
On the nose it is clean and expressive, with aromas of white flowers, green apple, pear and a hint of citrus zest. The palate is crisp and focused, with flavours of lemon, orchard fruit and a touch of almond. The mousse is fine and persistent, and the finish is dry, refreshing and elegant — making it ideal as both an aperitif and a food wine.
Food pairing: perfect with oysters, sashimi, prosciutto and melon, or light vegetable tempura. Also excellent with grilled white fish, herbed goat cheese or a fresh summer salad.
Cellar potential: best enjoyed young within two to three years of release to capture its lively fruit and freshness.
